I have been evaluating rybka's endgame play using sune larson's endgame
testsuite. So far, Rybka does not seem to be significantly worse than fruit
2.2.1 or fritz 9

time control 40 minutes 4 sec increment

Rybka versus fritz 9 (played on Pentium 3)
Rybka versus fruit 2.2.1 (Pentium(R) M processor 2.00GHz with 1,023 MB Memory)

Record on the 9 nunn endgame positions (engines playing both sides)
                                win loss draw
Rybka versus fruit 2.2.1 3 5 10
Rybka versus fritz9 4 5 9

So rybka's endgame is not up to the rest of its playing level, but i would not
classify it as weak, as many have suggested. True, it is not the best.

if i was in paderborn, and playing against rybka, i would certainly play an
opening that is likely to lead to an early endgame.

best
Joseph
