Hi Tim & guys,
Australia DOES NOT have a Socialist Government. We are a Democracy, & may soon
become a Republic.

After July, with the introduction of a 10% GST (Goods & Services Tax) to replace
20 to 25% sales tax, our prices will fall 10 to 15% (unless the retailers pinch
that back first.)

Michael, I have found I can do a better deal & get better Service from Melbourne
rather than Sydney.
Chess World, see http://www.ozemail.com.au/~chesswd/index.html
and also see the Rogers & Depasquale columns at
http://www.ozemail.com.au/~chesswd/austchn.html

I used to buy direct from USA or Germany, back when $1Aus = $1.15US (oops,
showing my age), but nowdays the exchange rate + postage + wait is too bad.

If I could buy Rebels & MChess's for $50Aus I'd own 20 programs. I think the
trouble is that for (say) rebel which costs (say) $30 to get on an Australian
shop shelf, to drop its price to $50 (from your $129) it would need to sell 5
times as many units (129-30)/(50-30) to make the same return.

Happy Easter,
Tina Long
