From my understanding, DB is only partially dismantled. It was composed of 2 large units that are no longer connected. However they each run independantly still. Check out the movie "Game Over" it's a documentary on the Kasparov DB match, and there is a discussion with the creators, and the movie ends with them taking a small tour to IBM where they show you the 2 nodes of DB. I may stand corrected. I do agree the should have kept it running.
