Hi Peter, due to several "strange" engines I would change one of your rule to have it more clear. Instead: "3. Only the author or an approved operator (Author must email the TD in such case to grant approval). There will be no clones allowed." instead of the second sentence I would use something similar then Leo Dijksman has in his rules for WBEC: "Each participating engine must be the original work of the developer(s). Programmers whose code is derived from or including code written by others must name all other authors, or the source of such code, in their application details (e.g. the Readme.txt which comes with the program, and the homepage from where the engine can be downloaded). Programs which are discovered to be close derivatives of others (e.g., by playing nearly all moves the same), may be declared invalid by the Tournament Director after seeking expert advice. For this purpose the Tournament Director can ask for the compilable source of the participating version of the engine to let it examine by an expert, when the developper of such an suspicious engine refuse to do so the engine will not (longer) participate in the WBEC Ridderkerk competitions." Just my two cents... Greets, Thomas P.S.: And my apologize for not showing up in the blitz-event. I felt very sorry after I realized that I had forgotten it.
