All of the math/integer benchmarks I have seen have the Apple G5 substantially below the Opteron. If you get the opportunity before the tournament ends, it would be interesting to see some analysis in the start position on that Quad G5 2.5GHz box -- with a 256 or 512MB hash. I'd be interested in comparing the time to ply with a Quad Opteron 2.4GHz or even my A64 X2 @ 2.85GHz. Good luck with the rest of the tournament! Regards, -elc.
