Sune Larsen caught the first position as being too simple and we have removed it from future testing (8/4k3/1p2b1pp/p1p1p3/P1P1P3/1P3P1P/5KB1/8 b - - 0 37) So it sounds liike we need some more complex endgames perhaps? I did expect rybka to be worse than it did here. Sune, any responses to this? I'd be happy to test more compex endings, if you generate them? best Joseph On December 29, 2005 at 05:42:12, Uri Blass wrote: >There are 2 problems with your test: > >1)position are not balanced and there are cases that only one side can win > >For example in the following position only white can practically win > >[D]8/4k3/r4pp1/pR6/P4KP1/5P2/8/8 w - - 0 1 >[D]8/5b2/1k2p1p1/2NpP1P1/1K1P4/8/8/8 w - - 0 1 "] > >2)The endgame are too simple and in almost all of them there is a single piece >per side when rybka's main problem is before that but in time that is still >considered to be an endgame. > >Uri
