The same problem goes for 8/4kr1b/4p3/rp1pPp1p/pPpP1PpP/P1P3P1/2K5/8 w There isn't a single program that keeps his electronic tentacles from the black rook at a5, thus losing the game by breaking the pawn wall which gives white a certain draw. If you switch sides you will see any program will choose to retrieve the black rook from a5 as quick as possible thereby wasting the only "chance" to win the game. Funny to notice that a few programs calculate the situation closer to a draw as the 50-move rule comes in view. Chessmaster is one of them :-) I think only if a computer chess program can come up with a plan instead of calculating the tactical position then a program can solve that kind of situations.
