I cannot answer your question about the temporary hang, but I have an observation to add. It is not just the playchess site. For me, using the Shredder 8 GUI, whenever I start up that GUI (regardless of whether I visit Playchess.com or just enter S8 to analyze/play games myself), there is a period of about 10 seconds after exiting the GUI that my system is completely unresponsive except for mouse movement. Even mouse clicks are stored for future processing. It is another reason I no longer use CB GUI for analysis - I prefer to use Arena (under Linux even with wine). Roy
