I know. That is why I also stopped auto232-testing of DOS-programs.
Do you know if the learning featue in MCP8 made some moves not reproducable or
did Ed re-start MCP without a learn file and try again?

Your point, I see SSDF as VERY important.

If you'd give Fritz/Genius/Shredder/Rebel a similar package (from the design)
and also the presence of all these supermarket stores where Chessmaster is paced
and sold I wouldn't be so sure that CM would hold his 1st place.
CM in most cases is bought by casual hobby players who partly also have lots of
other computer games like Doom, Quake and all that stuff. This kind of
user/customer is certainly not who buys Rebel, MChess and so on.
For this group SSDF list counts very much.

Most of the Chessmaster customers, right, but most of the other target group,
chess "addicts", KNOW.
