I have been playing a lot of the same programs against each other lately. I found something very curious to me. Lets say that on move 13 white gives an evaluation of +1.13 while the same move for black returns an evaluation of only -.87 for the same move number before it makes its move. Can anybody explain this to me? Is it because at any one time, either side is one ply ahead of the other? They are the same programs so shouldnt they return the same evaluation value?
