Hi Dan,

I think that this is what elicited the numerous complaints and it was on this
ONE occasion in a thread between Fernando and Steve B that I agreed it was
becoming too prolonged and longwinded and had diverged completely from the
original topic of discussion.
A mistake? Maybe, but as you say, a moderator must use his or her judgement.
The action was certainly not intended to cause the strong reactions that it did!
However such reactions seem to be the norm for any kind of moderation action
taken these days.
I was most disappointed about being accused by some of not having a sense of
humour   :-)
I'd like nothing more than to Steve B make a re-appearance, but that's in his
hands,
