Are you suggesting that Rybka understands this better than the other programs? as a side note, I've been runing a shootout involving engine versus itself at 5 to 11 ply. After 38 games, white is winning only 34% when you take off the f pawn. This position is bad for white. It seems worse than the .26 evaluation would suggest. However, it may not be a particularly realistic position. Rybka clearly evaluates very well. > >I suggest that you try the following position > >New game - Fruit 2.2 >[D]3qk3/pppppppp/8/8/8/8/PPPPP1PP/3QK3 w - - 0 1 > >Analysis by Rybka 1.0 Beta 32-bit: > >1.e3 > µ (-1.07) Depth: 3 00:00:00 >1.e3 > µ (-1.03) Depth: 4 00:00:00 >1.e3 e6 > µ (-0.91) Depth: 5 00:00:00 >1.e3 e6 2.Qg4 > µ (-0.95) Depth: 6 00:00:00 4kN >1.e3 e6 2.Qh5 Qf6 > µ (-0.89) Depth: 7 00:00:00 9kN >1.e3 e6 2.Qh5 Qf6 3.c3 > µ (-0.97) Depth: 8 00:00:00 18kN >1.e3 e6 2.Qh5 Qf6 3.c3 h6 > µ (-0.94) Depth: 9 00:00:00 37kN >1.e3 e6 2.Qh5 Qf6 3.c3 h6 4.Ke2 > µ (-0.90) Depth: 10 00:00:00 80kN >1.e3 e6 2.Qh5 Qf6 3.c3 h6 4.Ke2 b6 > µ (-0.97) Depth: 11 00:00:01 157kN >1.e3 e6 2.Qh5 h6 3.Ke2 Qf6 4.c3 b6 5.Qg4 > µ (-0.98) Depth: 12 00:00:02 383kN >1.e3 e6 2.Qh5 h6 3.c3 Qf6 4.Qc5 Qh4+ 5.g3 Qxh2 > µ (-0.97) Depth: 13 00:00:04 760kN >1.e3 e6 2.Qh5 h6 3.c3 Qf6 4.Qc5 Qh4+ 5.g3 Qxh2 > µ (-0.99) Depth: 14 00:00:08 1489kN >1.e3 e6 2.Qh5 h6 3.c3 Qf6 4.Qg4 Qe5 5.Qf4 Qa5 > µ (-1.00) Depth: 15 00:00:18 3277kN > >(, 05.01.2006)
