I echo Andy's thoughts and go a bit further. Arena 1.1 and 1.99 Beta both run
fine under wine on Linux [I use Fedora Core 4]. There are a few window resizing
operations that take WAY longer under wine than they do on Windows, but other
than that, I see little difference. The engines compiled for Windows run FASTER
than their counterparts that are compiled for Linux (where you can make such a
comparison, say, with Toga II). I run Arena almost exclusively for most analysis
now and use SCID for database-stuff. ChessBase ? Who are they? :-)

All that said, I would still like to see a native build of Arena for Linux in
case anyone responsible for Arena is reading this. :-)
