Arena 1.1 and 1.99 Beta both run fine under wine on Linux [I use Fedora Core 4]. There are a few window resizing operations that take WAY longer under wine than they do on Windows, but other than that, I see little difference. The engines compiled for Windows run FASTER than their counterparts that are compiled for Linux (where you can make such a comparison, say, with Toga II). I run Arena almost exclusively for most analysis now and use SCID for database-stuff. ChessBase ? Who are they? :-) All that said, I would still like to see a native build of Arena for Linux in case anyone responsible for Arena is reading this. :-) Roy
