Don Don, As I recall, prior to recent times chess used to allow only one square advances of the pawn. To speed things up and to add variety the rule was modified. Did you try this against computers also? Remember that in chess the loser is the one that makes the most mistakes. I have played this way on the internet and noticed that many players are "stupidly bold" and like imbecile generals of old will march headlong into withering cannon-fire. I got called a "whuss" by some nincompoop at the University of Amsterdam when he knew he was losing to a careful player. Have fun with this opening. If you really want to drive them nuts defer castling if possible and let them guess whether you will castle long or short. Tim Frohlick
