>>Sergei, why plays not YOUR band new SmarThink 1.00? Well, we play with SmarThink a lot of games :) Not a problem, you're interested in it? As I had written in comments in that post: SmarThink is also really dumb in this position. You wanted to hear it? :) >Oh, come on, Eduard, this game's not that important :-). The problem in this >game, from my point of view, was the inferior line that Rybka played starting >with 15...f5?, instead of playing the active 15...a5! that would make Mr. > Olenin feel quite ill-at-ease. I think your evaluation is not right. The main idea in this opening it to play g6 before f6 and take control on d5 square keeping bishop. a5 looks too early from my point of view of cource. I'll ask Nickolai and GM's Kalugin and Lunev also if you want ;) > The book that Rybka used was apparently mediocre, to >say the least. The Sicilian Pelikan has to be played actively by black, >otherwise black is in for a thrashing. If you have read my comments for that post, than you know that this well-known variation was artificially selected by us. Sergei
