>i cannot say i ever heard of this problem in the Senator or in any dedicated >computer >can i ask you...the games you are playing, what is the time control? >perhaps this bug only surfaces in fast games or when the Senator is very short >of time? >highly unusual bug i think In both games the Senator module was playing white, and it was game in 20 minutes time control - so it was reasonably fast. What was interesting is that it appears as if the senator evaluation function did not realise that a draw by threefold repetition was imminent - it showed the senator as being ahead by 2.xx pawns, announced the move (causing the repetition of position) and on making the move it announced that it was a draw by threefold repetition. I'll try to see if I can get replicate it again, and I'll then try the senator on a number of different time control settings. Drawn into utter confusion regards, Jaco
