Look again Robert...

"System - Windows x64, 3gb RAM, dual AMD 2.4ghz"

dual=2 cpus ... one for each engine

As for futility ..I thought the original setup from Thorsten Czub was

 "if you change hiarcs10 playing style (e.g. default
 +agg+hyp+threaddepth5+combinations-futility) it seems that things are
different. "

I may try futility pruning on with a longer time control match :)
