Please excuse an old guy who without his proper glasses tried to
explain a problem..my apologies to you all.. Having said that I refer you
to March 1999 Chess Life pg 27. Robert Lincoln's Column "Easy Does It"; where
the Mate in 2 problem by M. Banaszek is listed.
I tried this again on Fritz, and Rebel10 with the same result...
neither of them found the Mate in 2.
The position again for those who may not want to take the time to look it up.
White: King on g6 Knights on h7 and g8 Queen on d5 Pawn on f6
Black: King on h8
Key Move Qd8
The defenses 1..be7 and 1...bh6 are trumped by
2. Nxe7 and 2. Nxh6 respectivly.
