I predict that no matter who comes out the strongest, we are all winners. And all of them will increase in strength and give us interesting, new insights into chess positions. It's not a win/win situation. It's a win/win/win/win/win/win/win/win/win/win/win/win/win situation. I do feel sorry for the chess programmers. Slaving away at the wee hours of the morning to squeeze out 5 more Elo so that we can cough up some lunch money to pay for their 4000 hours of effort. I think that the sickness of the chess programmer is even more dreadful than the sickness of the chess program enthusiast. Unfortunately, I have caught both maladies. IMO-YMMV. P.S. There is no cure, except to take two Shredders and post on CCC in the morning.
