An easy explanation could be: In many computer games, the engines did not resign
(early), so you see material balances, where humans would have resigned since
long. For engines, that don't suffer from the "incomplete TBs", it should be
better, to judge the usefulness of the different TBs from the frequency in human
games.

Unfortunately, the pgns downloaded from Dann Corbit where not clean at all. Many
illegal moves, etc. I guess, you had the same problem, when calculating the
statistics. So, unfortunately, I cannot compare the numbers 1 to 1 with your
numbers; your method may have allowed different errors in the PGN than my
method. Still - numbers look very similar. Just the first few:
I had 23022 games

As you can see, tha absolute numbers are very close, however, I do not
understand, how you calculated percentages?

errors in the PGN. Some of them are really bad, side to move is in check, and
don't moves out of check, but still wins, is one example.
