I am Dann's lost twin. Not only do I share Dann's interest in computer chess
and curling, we also both used to run the 400 metres (I hate to use the past
tense here, but I fear that my knee will never heal properly, and I will not
be able to train seriously again).

Curling is actually the only sport I enjoy watching (*doing* sports is a
different matter, of course). Everything else bores me to tears. I have
only played curling myself once, but it was great fun.

I would be surprised if chess and curling turned out to be an unusual
combination of interests. I don't know any sport which resembles
strategic board games like chess more than curling.
