Thanks Bruce. I think I got it figured out in the meantime. Did you see my post re the CM6K hash? I thought it interesting and would even start a thread. Not a single response as yet. I set my hash (ttable setting)on CM to 16meg and got worse results,in a pawn ending, than the original 1meg setting. I'll check with complex mid game positions to see the results there. I have heard that it's not always a case of 'bigger the better' with hash, there is an optimum setting for individual programs, and it's not necessarily the same for different time settings.Would'nt you think the program would, or could, adjust it's optimum hash size as the game progresses? You seem a knowledgeable fellow, could you have a look at my other post re hash table size and give me your thoughts on it? Thanks for your attention and hope to hear from you..take care.
