You may or not have seen the post by Carrisco regarding the extensive testing of
the various parameters of Hiarcs 10, and the decisions made. Visibly, if one can
find improvements for Rybka, already an indisputable champion, the more power to
the users. Remember that these possibly stronger beta versions are immediately
available to people who purchased Rybka, so though it may not be labeled "Rybka
1.2 Final Version", you still get the latest and greatest version. I'm not
complaining.
BTW, I ran an 80 game match using the Neutral settings of Beta 9 playing Fruit
2.2 in the Noomen Select set, and it won 46.5 - 33.5. I am now running an
identical match (I see no other way to properly test a setting without worrying
about the luck of the openings) with the Optimistic settings and at the 50 game
point it is doing better than the Neutral settings. Still, let's see how it
stands when the last 30 are played.
