Subject: *Rybka Misuse of CCC*

Hi All!

Because this is becoming a real problem I want to ask you all.

1) The appearance of a new engine is always a good event, hope you all agree?

2) Never before - unless there was a scandal of some sort - a new engine was so
heavily in the new messages of CCC, do you agree with me?

3) As you know we have some 300 chess engines, amateurs and professionals; how
can it be fair and justified that a single engine like Rybka is in the
headlines?

4) Recently I read stuff of this sort: we should all give Vas something because
he also gives us so much; do you really think that because of this all the other
engines have no right to be discussed and supported? Please why?

Let me answer my questions in a somewhat general manner. I for one see a gross
injustice in this appearance of Rybka, what is called aggressive marketing. I
find it absolutely against the charter here that forbids advertising. At least
in such a pusher manner. The point is that all other are forgotten or ignored.
For what reasons? Because they dont have the chuzbe of Vasik? Let me clarify
that I would tolerate such a vibe IF but only if Rybka were Freeware, but it's
not! In this case Rybka consumers are misusing this open forum for their own
interests. But all other programmers use the usual path of email feedback. In
special I find it is a scandal towards Bob Hyatt who offers for a long period of
time his Crafty for free. He created a special emaillist to keep the noise
outside CCC. And Hyatt has no commercial interests at all.

Vasik had a good status when he presented his free Rybka for download but now
things got out of control. Hiarcs programmer Uniake has no time to even frequent
this forum and he has a program with a long tradition. He gets crushed in the
actual Rybka hybris. But again, all the amateurs are the real victims of this
forum misuse. They have no commercial interests and therefore CCC seems to make
them living deads. This cant be justified with no thinkable arguments.

I know that now many supporters, fans and lovers of Rybka, also in face of the
very noble Vasik and his big engagement in CCC, see my statement as possibly
unfair towards Rybka/ Rajlich but I can only smash such reflections with the
cool argument that I have 300 programmers and perspective engines on my side! I
ask the host here, Steve Schwartz, if by chance commercial interests overruled
the normal procedering in CCC?

Please excuse me, but sometimes the truth will hurt no matter how you present
it. B ut if I wouldnt speak it out an even bigger injustice would continue day
by day.

Let's get this back to normal. I dont want to miss Rybka news but all Rybka guys
should also thing about all the other 300 collegues...

Yours truly,

Rolf
