Deep inside, Rolf remains....a troll. I've been following chess programming
since about 1998, and it was Rolf's pollution of the chess programming newsgroup
that resulted in the creation of CCC (you can search the newsgroup archives if
you're really interested).

This forum has, by its very existence, spawned countless advances in computer
chess and attracted tons of new engine authors and spectators. Ironically, we
owe it all to Rolf, whose trolling forced discussion out of the newgroups and
onto the WWW, making protected discussion available to a much wider audience.

In this sense, Rolf is in part responsible for the creation of Fruit and Rybka.
The universe does indeed have a sense of irony. :):)
