Warning: Shameless self promotion follows.

Glaurung 1.0, released today, might be exactly what you are looking for.
Wild, unsound attacks, and lots of unsound and clownish sacrifices, but
with decent tactics and respectable (not great) endgame play.

If you have played with previous versions of Glaurung and was
disappointed, I can tell you that the new version is more active,
more aggressive, more speculative and less materialistic than
its predecessors.
