My impression from Fischer's games is, that he was a player who was more than any other great master capable of finding strong moves beyond any common patterns. The same is typical for computer chess programs! Fischer was a player being able to break through any old-fashioned patterns with his chess thinking. He was a player who would not blindly accept any old dogmas, and it seems to me good chess programs show the same behaviour :) Considering this, I assume that having computer assistance in his youth would have supported him a lot (but that's probably the same for any old master of the past). best regards Austin
