A dual-core is a true dual CPU.

And it does have dual caches, as far as I understand it. I think the only
difference compared to the Opteron is that the Opteron has a dual memory bus.

A program won't see the difference and all SMP programs will run using both
cores, and in almost all cases at the same efficiency.

Fritz 9 *won't* use both cores, because it's not an SMP program.
