The progress from 0.98 to 2.2.1 is an advancement of 300 Elo, which means:
6 doublings in strength in two years, or a doubling in strength every 4 months.

Another advancement of 150 Elo will not be too hard for Fabien. In fact, I am
quite sure that he can to it. It means 3 more doublings in strength -- once
every 8 months.

Not at all. It is only effort. Fruit is not a huge chess program (hence, the
inertia for improvements is low) and is superbly written. His clear thinking is
very evident in his code. He has not incorporated learning or SMP yet, both of
which are obvious additions.

It would not astonish me if he picked up 300 Elo instead of 150.
He will advance as far as he wants to.
