So I didn't own a version 9 AG, unfortunately, but brought it back home in Munich, where I played it almost every evening. And it made me look quite pale in blitz :-)). Yeah, it was great seeing and playing with so many of these machines. Actually I also have played the Mephisto tournament machine, which was also my companion in the Amsterdam VSB tournament in 1991! The hotel personnel was looking quite strange seeing that big machine on my hotelroom table :-) Now I hope I can collect some of these memorable machines for my own collection. The Fidelity Spracklen programs are high on my list, as well as the Novags (Super Constellation, Super Forte, Expert). You know, I started to be really interested in chess computers after I was invited to the Dieren tournaments in the late 1980's. There I played with the Elite AG, the MM IV (with Turbokit), the Forte, the Dallas 68.020, the Polgar... Well, I won 2 of the tournaments, but it didn't go as smoothly as I had expected! And I remember how I first laughed at Jan Louwman's Turbostars, Private Lines, Super Conny's and Mephisto S..... After these tourney's I bought a Modular MM IV and I was 'lost' forever in the world of computerchess :-) Robot regards, Jeroen >hi Jeroen > >what an interesting account! >THANK YOU >so many well known and famous names in chess you met > >of course i am talking about the chess computers and not the GM'S >:)) > >what ever happenned to that EAG v9 you had at home?? >i am praying you did not sell it!! > >i have the V9 but i would take human life and happily go to prison for the Dual >Processor EAG V5 or V8..even the V10 > >THANKS AGAIN >Steve
