There are no alternatives for White.

With ...Nc7 Black prepares to bring all his pieces in the attack. ...Nb5 is
threatened, exchanging the Knight on a3, when White's King is very exposed.

Black attacks with all pieces, White defends with a Q+N - it is simple.
