The formula I use for Fritz is as follows.

I assume a 50-move game. Approximately ten moves will likely be from the opening
book. So I divide the sudden death control (in minutes) by 40 (the number of
moves), and multiply the resulting number by 60 (to get the average number of
seconds per move). I then plug this number into the formula in the Fritz manual.
