Subject: polyglot xboard shredder9

I have installed polyglot 1.3 with the ScoreWhite patch and Shredder9 on my
linux box.  I am encountering the following when trying to run xboard:
xboard: Error writing to first chess program: Broken pipe

I am using the shredder.ini file from the "Shredder for Linux" site and have
modified the file paths appropriately.  I invoke xboard with -fd pointing to the
path where polyglot is installed.  I think I have tried every variation of
specifying the polyglot command as the argument to -fcp; "polyglot
shredder.ini", "/PATH/polyglot shredder.ini", /PATH/polyglot
/PATH/shredder.ini".  All to no avail.  Anyone know of a way to get this
debugged?
