It's hard to say one PDA type is better than the other -- they are different.

On today's hardware -- there is little difference in processing speed - maybe
Pocket PC has the edge.

There are more good chess programs available forthe Pocket PC.

Pocket Grandmaster - currently has 5 engines.
CEBoard - 4 Engines
Pocket Friitz 2
Chess Genius

with the program styletap, you also use the best Palm Chess Programs - HIARCS ,
Chess Tiger and Chess Genius (Chess Genius has native apps for both OS)

Pocket PC may have the edge in available chess programs.

Palms are generally lighter, thinner and a have a more intuitive interface, but
the Pocket PC is not hard to use either.

In the real world. I keep all my appointments and contacts in my pocket pc , and
use my Palm for games. This is primarlity driven by the fact that I sync my
Pocket PC with MS Outlook. I'm sure you can do something similiar witha Palm
for contacts and appointments.

If I has to buyt just one today , I would get a Pocket PC for all ofthe above
plus I believe you will see Rybka on a Pocket PC before you will see it on a
Palm and Rybka on a Pocket PC will be the best chess porgram ever on such a
small device.

Good Luck!
Michael
