Basicly I have been satisfied with my testing so far. However, I have realised that testing 40/14 repeadetly is too timedemanding when you yourself are the only tester. Moreover, I discovered that some of my openingpositions haven't been working too well (especially Ben Oni in which the White-score exceeded 70%) and I have also come to the conclusion that I prefer 10 predefined openingpositions in stead of 15. It's almost decided which 10 predefined openingpositions I shall be using and I have coordinated this with Klaus Wlotzka in order not to come too close to his openingpositions. My hardware is still this: Asus A8V Motherboard, Socket 939, FSB 1.000 MHz AMD Athlon 64 4000+, 2.4 GHz, 1 MB Level 2 Cache, 90 nm San Diego Core 2 x 512 MB Corsair PC 3200XLPT RAM (CAS Latency 2-2-2-5) It's very possible that I am making a change concerning the GUI. I used to use Shredder 9 GUI but for some reasons it's likely that I will use Hiarcs 10 GUI from now on. However, I will only do this if the "analysed positions per second" is acceptable and comparable to those of Shredder 9 GUI. In fact I am testing this right now and it seems that the difference is very marginal for the UCI-engines (1-2% slower in the Hiarcs 10 GUI). The time control will be either 5+5 or maybe 6+6. Ofcourse I will start posting results here in this Forum and CSS-Forum when I am so far. Best regards Per
