Author: A. Zanchetta

Hello,

5th G/60 game between Super Expert C and Nigel Short : an easy win for SEC with
White which leads to 2.5-2.5 before last game !

[D]3rr1k1/2p1b2p/p1n3p1/1p1pB3/6q1/2P2N2/PPQ2PPP/3RR2K b - - 0 21

So far, white have a very small advantage, the next moves will increase it
slowly but regularly.

[D]3r2k1/2p1b2p/p5p1/1p1r4/4Q3/2P2N1P/PP3PP1/7K b - - 0 26

White's advantage is +1.00 and the Nigel Short plays two useless "check" moves :
Rd1+ followed by Be6+

[D]3r2k1/2p4p/p2b2p1/1p6/4Q3/2P2N1P/PP3PPK/3r4 w - - 0 28

Here, Fritz 9 gives +1.80 for white, SEC (white) gives itself +0.25 only and
Nigel Short gives itself a +0.8 !!!!

[D]7k/2p4p/p2b2p1/1p3r2/2P1Q3/5NPP/PP3PK1/3r4 w - - 0 31

White has a huge advantage which can be increased with Qc2.. but SEC wants to
give check and plays Qa8, Fritz's eval
goes from +4 to +1.62... but a few moves later NS makes the last mistake

[D]5r1k/2p4p/Q5p1/1p6/2P1N3/3r2bP/PP3PK1/8 b - - 0 34

It plays Bf4 and white wins a few moves later : after the trade between the
white queen and the two rooks, the game is over :

[D]7k/2p4p/2N3p1/8/1PP2b2/7P/P4PK1/8 b - - 0 42

If NS had played 34... Bxf2 35. Nxf2 Rd2, the position would have been quite
balanced again :

[D]5r1k/2p4p/Q5p1/1p6/2P5/7P/PP1r1NK1/8 w - - 0 36
