I wouldnt blame ChessBase. In my eyes Yasser is - well - somewhat lightly
screwdriving analyst. If you recall his comments on Topalov vs Shak as he
spelled the name of the World Junior Champion. I mean the position (from the
heart) where Black just had played Nd7. Yasser commented in the line "outch
outch that will cost Black a lot because now e4-e5-e6 is threatening, Shak
should have played Ne6, to prevent the P attack" such stuff. That is not what I
expect from such a strong player. For the brilliantly looking S. I would prefer
100 times more a somewhat frog-eyed, ugly looking mastermind, who wouldnt flirt
around with all women and to my surprise also with all the men. It is this loop
that caused Yasser to lose his concentration. If you say high, kisskiss, to
everybody you are overqualified for the job of a reporter. Honestly I enjoyed
Yasser's report from San Luis, his soft voice allowed a high concentration on my
side and it was an all over convincing performance. Perhaps now I know Wijk too
well myself so that all this walking around and playing a BBC grand in a Wild
Life Fund Africa TV emission, there Seirawan is not talented enough because he
wants always to be seen when he gives his cameraman the signs where to film
something interesting. Now Yasser is in a double bind so to speak with all his
friends there. He even makes salutations if he becomes aware of some jackets or
hats. Then he tells us that if we were in need of something we could well take
it here...

A complete low was also his interview with IM Danilov about the match Topalov vs
Kramnik. Seirawan with a single exception was listening and agreeing to all sort
of nonsense. And it really surprised me that he also nodded when Danilov argued
as if now Topalov, after that light Wch, were in the midst of Fischer,
Capablanca, Botwinnik and Kasparov. Complete nonsense. Topalov is more a player
like Kasimshanov. But not like Kramnik or Kasparov. It would really have been
fun to watch how Danilov, who always speeks openly his opinions if Seirawan
would at least one time have opposed him in his hybris. And in his naivety. "A
player must be well prepared and nicely dressed". And how he stated that chess
isnt professional because all other players have no manager yet. Even the young
Carlssen is mature enough to make his own decisions. Topalov could it too. He
isnt a Fischer or Kasparov with such a worldwide engagement. The simple mistake
of Danilov is that in Western money a manager costs too much. A chessplayer isnt
a Hollywood star. And in Germany already a participant of the lame TV show "Big
Brother" wins a car similar to the one Topalov got after his tournament win in
San Luis.

It's the realism that went to pieces in that interview and thanks to the
passivity of Yasser Seirawan.
