Mike, I use Shredder 8 and Rybka 1.0 beta 32 for analysis and playing. Chessfun has tested Shredders 8 and 9 and found version 8.0 to be superior to 9.x. Shredder 10 is going to be stronger than Rybka 1.2. Just my opinion. I am sure that I will buy Shredder 10. If Vasik puts Rybka 1.2 on a disc then I will probably buy it too.
