LIke Tomas, in a post below, I was stunned to find the newest rybka beta 11 struggle against fritz 9, but not against other engines. It started out at 1 win, 8 loses and four draws before I stopped the test. I would not have believed it, had i not seen tomas's post. I am going to retest it on another computer, to see if there is anything funny going on However, it may be that the newest rybka beta needs to be set to focus 4. Here are my results (fritz tests on pentium 2 ghz machine; otherwise on 446 mhz machine. nooman test set. 40/4) Rybka beta 1 versus fritz9 22-38 58% win rate Rybka beta 11 (focus 4) 19-38 (50%) rybka beta 11 (focus 5) 16.5-38 Rybka versus fruit 2.2.1 beta 11 default 41- 73 (56%) beta 11 focus 3 42- 73 (58%) beta 11 focus 4 44.5- 73 (61%) I have found beta 1 to win about 57% on this machine, so it might be that focus 4 improves things.
