Subject: GM Morovic Vs Rybka this Thursday and something more...

Hi all:
Today at noon was celebrated in a beatiful old vineyard place -a relique of
older times- in one neighborhood of Santiago -capital of my country, Chile, a
big city of around 6 millions inhabitants- the press conference to announce
oficially the match GM Morovic Vs Rybka. The press conference was well attended
by journalists and I was there in the quality of kind of representative of
Rybka, after previous agreement about that with Vas. It is and it was more a
protocolar matter to let me be part of the conference and talk about Rybka than
anything else. Technically speaking, I will NOT be the guy to decide in cases of
draws, resignations et all. I will just ensure only one thing: that the computer
to be used will be loaded with the best settings for Rybka. This means I will
see Rybka has lot of Ram for Hash tables, be setted in solid and lightly
positional settings, etc.
The games will be 40 moves in one hour, with 30 seconds increment each move.
This ensure long, serious games.
I adviced to mount an internet service to at least have a web page with updating
of the games each 5 moves. I am not certain, nevertheles, they will be ready in
time. The guys in charge are not precisely resplendent genuses and have not even
thought on that. As you probably can experience in your own coutries, people in
local or national administrations does not know a shit about comps, chess, web ,
etc.
Anyway, if you want to see some photos of the ceremony, you can go to:

http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/cpaa2@sbcglobal.net/my_photos

There, in the album "Villegas", you will find a couple of recent photos of this
press conference and the sorting of the side for first game.
Next photos of same conference and specially of the game day will be posted
there.
BTW, Rybka will play first game with whites.

Fernando
