Paradoxically, I have seen programs report this when they are looking for
256-colour mode.  Usually they are old ones that think the choices are 16
colours and 256 colours.  You could try dropping down and seeing what happens,
but since this place sounds fairly new, it's unlikely that it will solve your
problem.
