That's the same score that an earlier beta of Rybka beat Fritz 9 by on my machine some weeks ago, with Nunn2 and 3'+ 2" blitz. I was thinking about Rybka last night before I went to bed, and wondered how Fritz 9 would fare under these conditions if it also did not have its EGTB access turned on (like Rybka) ... for a more direct engine-to-engine comparison. So I turned off Fritz's EGTB access and re-ran this set while I slept. This morning, I saw the score was: Rybka 1.01 Beta 12: 38.5 (+32 =13 -5) Fritz 9: 11.5 (+5 =13 -32) Ouch! Not a pretty sight. Yes, I know it's not a valid test, just for fun. But it does make me think what a monster Rybka will be when it gets EGTB access and also endgame knowledge! Hurry up, Vas! Mark A.
