Subject: What do other programs think of 17. hxg3?

Go up one level in this thread

After some analysis of this game, the critical computer error seems to
be 17. hxg3, which is a losing move. Fritz would not play this move, and
when forced to play it begins to smell trouble quickly. Before, the
position was about +50, after this move it becomes -144 at 12 ply, and
quickly gets worse at deeper plies. Crafty 16.1 (comes with Fritz) sees
nothing and actually recommends 17. hxg3, while Crafty 16.6 is better,
recommending 17. h3 and showing an evaluation of -17 for 17. hxg3?
at 12 ply. Tries by Comet and Exchess engines were underwhelming.
So this is a good test position. I would be interested in seeing what
other programs (specifically the *real* top programs like Hiarcs, Rebel,
Junior, Nimzo) think of 17. hxg3? and at what depth they see it is losing.
CM6000 would be interesting as well.

Position just before 17. hxg3? in EPD notation:

r1bq1rk1/ppp1n1b1/3p1n2/2PPp2p/1P2Pp2/1NN2Pp1/PB2B1PP/2RQ1R1K w - -
