Several engines are now significantly stronger than Fritz 8. If you like Fritz, certainly you should upgrade to Fritz 9. I've used Fritz a lot in the past but gave it up when Shredder 7-8-9 came along. Somewhere in that period I started to prefer UCI engines, it seems. Personally I believe Fruit 2.2.1 is best at present for long analysis. It's the one I trust the most. It behaves well. I use the Rybka betas too, but with some caution, and look forward to the final release 1.2 version when I'll make a more firm judgement. I still use Shredder 9.1 occasionally too. WP
