Hi,

I Spike has a bonus for simpilying the position if in advantage. On the other
hand the bonus is not that big thus other positional advantages could get higher
raitings. A good example is a king attack that is much less valuable without
queen. Thus if Spike has material advantage and a king attack he will not
exchange queens.

I think simlifying is not that important for chess programs as for humans. They
tend less often to loose material by accident.
