In order to reduce the amount of Rybka posts, I've restricted my test results to
Vasik and some other testers via e-mail. As M. Hurd shared some results testing
with the setting UltraSolid, I thought it fair to share some results of my own
with the parameters.
Since there are quite a number of parameters, all testing is done with
relatively fast time controls. Once the main candidates have been narrowed down,
longer games can be tested of course. Otherwise there is no way to get enough
games to test.
Test conditions are:
Athlon64 3500+ (Venice) + 256 MB hash
Time Control: 3m + 2s
Ponder = off; 256Mb Hash each
Silver Suite - Short (25 positions)
The default settings against Fritz 9 and Hiarcs 10 (Hypermodern) scored:

2 Hiarcs 10 2850 +11/-22/=17 39.00% 19.5/50
1 Rybka 1.01 Beta 12 32-bit 2900 +19/-15/=16 54.00% 27.0/50
2 Fritz 9 2820 +15/-19/=16 46.00% 23.0/50
Total: 57.5 / 100
I did a test with UltraSolid and the Outlook at Slightly Optimistic, but the
results were slightly worse overall:

2 Hiarcs 10 2850 +17/-22/=11 45.00% 22.5/50
1 Rybka 1.01 Beta 12 32-bit 2900 +25/-17/=8 58.00% 29.0/50
2 Fritz 9 2820 +17/-25/=8 42.00% 21.0/50
Total: 56.5 / 100
I tend to blame the Slightly Optimistic, and still believe the UltraSolid may be
as good or better than the default Solid setting though games would be needed to
back this up.
I also just finished a test with the Deteriorating Position and Improving
Position settings, in which I tested the Improving Position with Slightly
Optimistic, and the Deteriorating Position with Much More Pessimistic. The rest
at default.
Here the results were a bit better:

Total: 62.5 / 100
To confirm this last result, I am running a 3rd match against Fruit 2.2 with
both the default settings, and then these. If the result is confirmed, I'll then
try adding UltraSolid to see what happens.
