Interesting. So any middle game positions which have a win in the middle game, and need to go on an end-game if best moves are played, the actual mate might show up! This is progress, because until now, in many positions where one side "might" have am advantage, like after an "unclear" sacrifice, now, we will be able to see the mate, if it possible to force it before the end-game. Indeed if ANYTHING (not only mates) can be seen 36 moves ahead of time, then it will probably cope with ANYTHING, and almost any possible unclear sacrifice will be clear, to the computer. This might be the beginning of the end of perfection of chess. But it's interesting that this might come about not directlty, and solely by computer knowledge, but also combined with numerical evaluation, long distance. Obviously, prunning will need to be perfected as much as possible, not to discard anything which actually DOES lead to benefit. S.Taylor
