Subject: Collector's corner - Kaplans D++

I would just like to say a few words about the Saitek D++ 10 mhz. Some purist
might say that this is not an official Saitek progam and therefore nothing to
collect and to a point I agree. This is not a program to collect, but a program
to play with ;-). After a 10 game matc against this module in a Renaissance
board (60 minutes/game) I must say I am impressed with the attitude of the
program. This program is boxing with the gloves off! Of course it is possible
to knock it out sometimes, but it is very aggressive and therefore difficult to
meet. Like most selective programs it is possible to make speculative
sacrifices and win, but it plays fun chess . If you don’t believe me, see
Thorsten Czub's very enthusiastic website for the D+ and D++ where you also can
download the eprom content and there are also some illustrative games.

My advice is: Download it, burn it and play with it!

The only regret is that it should have been possible to tune it to 15 or 20 mhz.
 It would then perhaps be one of the most interesting and entertaining program
of all….

The overall result of my mach with the D++?

Loosers Corner Regards

Erik
