I have been running lots of engine v engine matches using the Fritz 9 GUI with no problem ..when all of a sudden .. one engine (Rybka beta 13) refuses to move. I tried the following circumventions : 1) switching from F9 GUI version to H10 2) using Engine Management and making the engine inactive, then setup the UCI engine fresh 3) change engine match settings ...perm brain on/off ..egtbs on/off ..opposing engine (UCI ..non UCI ) None of those worked for me ... From years of experience I simply refuse to reinstall CB software to fix a software "bug" :) Then on a wild guess ..I changed the engine match name to something different and miracle ..both engines are moving . Go figure. Could this be a Rybka bug ? Unlikely in my view. I think the original poster mentioned UCI and Winboard engines My conclusions 1) The new GUI F9/H10 probably has a bug with engine matches and UCI engines 2) Chessbase will most likely never acknowledge the bug. It might get fixed but I would not bet any blackjack money on it :)
