This theory is wrong. part of their losses are clearly in the endgame. I remember that rybka saved loss position against deep shredder in the endgame in the last tournament and we are talking about the first beta version. So we still have to see the performance of Rybka in the endgame >department. Comes February 20, 2006 and the released of the Full Version as >promised by Vas, we will now have a look at the endgame capability of Rybka. > >As mentioned in the previous Forum, Fritz and Shredder is the best in the >endgame department. No proof for it. Maybe somebody can repeat the sune's endgame test with latest rybka. Even the first version was strong and I renember that it almost could draw with the top programs in sune's test. I will not be surprised if improvements in the search may change the result and now rybka can win the top programs in sune's test. I don't have any information about the endgame knowledge of >Spike, Toga, Zappa and Fruit. The Rybka engines should solve basic endgames >position even without the Nalimov Endgame Tables. This is not the most important endgame knowledge. The most important endgame knowledge is before tablebases. Uri
